CEBU, Philippines - A businessman lost P155,000 in cash to two unidentified robbers on board a motorcycle Friday afternoon in Sitio Lamac, Barangay Yati, Liloan town.

The victim, rice warehouse owner Rey Suico, and his three workers, failed to react when the robbers drove up on a motorcycle and declared a robbery around 4:59 pm.

SPO-3 Marcelino Servilla said that workers were busy at workwhen the robbers arrived on board a Honda XRM motorcycle without license plates.

The driver, who was the one armed with a KG-9 pistol, was described as having a fair complexion and standing 5’4” to 5’5” tall. He was wearing a pair of checkered shorts and a black jacket. His companion was described as also fair in complexion and standing 5’6” to 5’7” tall, he was also wearing a pair of checkered shorts and a faded denim jacket.

Both men got off the motorcycle. The driver pointed his gun at Suico and the others to keep them at bay while his accomplice immediately went to the booth of cashier Mark Jason Dojedo and grabbed the cash from the drawer.

“While nagtion ang driver, ang back rider nagsige ug sulod sa kwarta sa sling bag nga gidala sa  driver,” Servilla said in a phone interview.

The driver then herded Suico and his workers into the interior portion of the warehouse and ordered them to lie face-down.

The robbers were last seen speeding on their motorcycle  towards Consolacion town.

Servilla said they are now tracking a man whose picture is in the rogue’s gallery of the Consolacion police station and who was identified by Suico as bearing resemblance to the man who robbed them.

He said that the said man has been involved in several robbery incidents in the town.

“Pero dili ni sila syndicated group mura’g timing-timing lang g’yud ni ila,” he said.

He further said that based on the execution of the crime, robbers conducted surveillance at the warehouse before they carried out their plan.

“Makita man nga suweto na sila og kinsa ug pila ka tao ang naa,” Servilla said.  (FREEMAN)
