The Yuletide season has auspiciously arrived at the Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino as the stunning Golden Christmas Tree was lit on Friday, November 8, amid pomp and glamor. Hotel Manager Mr. Rex Benhur Caballes was joined by Congresswoman Paz Radaza, Lapu-Lapu City First Lady Mrs. Cindi King-Chan, MCIAA general manager Atty. Steve Dicdican, and PAGCOR satellite manager Mrs. Consolacion Pasion as the Golden Glare of Christmas was lighted while a lobby filled with guests and well-wishers looked on.
“We have chosen the grand and glamorous color gold, which represents prosperity, triumph, achievement, and success. Success of Waterfront Hotels and Casinos, and our MCIAA neighbors,” said Mr. Caballes in his welcome speech. Lapu-lapu City tourism officer Mr. Edward Mendez and tourism consultant Ms. Josie Hayashi, candidates of Binibining Lapu-lapu, and world-renowned fashion designer Mr. Philipp Tampus were among the notable guests of the festive night.
The hotel’s Executive Chef Tristan Encarnacion prepared a masterpiece Cultural Gastronomic Cuisine dinner which creatively used locally-sourced ingredients. A waiters’ parade welcomed the guests for dinner. The Sous Vide Short Plate and Gatchalian’s Lechon were among the popular dishes served by Chef Tristan that evening.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony marks the start of the Christmas Celebration at Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino. For the month of December, a host of Yuletide activities are available for the guests. Yuletide Nightly Serenade and Christmas Carolers are in the hotel from December 16 to 24. Misa de Gallo is also celebrated at 4 a.m. daily from December 16 to 24. Misa de Aguinaldo will be celebrated at 10 p.m. on December 24.
