On the day she would deliver her State of the Province Address (SOPA), Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia would turn all of 64 years young. We greeted her at her office, and she was all smiles and looking great. In fact, she asked us where her best friend Mariquita Yeung was. After which, we proceeded to the Capitol Social Hall where, at least, a thousand guests and government officials were waiting for her arrival.
Fifteen minutes after seven in the evening, Governor Gwen started her address with a video report of all she had done in the first 100 days she was in office. So exhausting to see, indeed, but laudable for all her endeavors for the Province of Cebu… a significant historic report. She then thanked all the people who supported her all the way.
After Governor Gwen`s speech and video report, her brother, Rep. Pablo John Garcia took the mike and gave the closing remarks. Rep. PJ then invited all the guests present to partake of the buffet dinner which was a gift of the Garcia family to the birthday lady… Governor Gwen Garcia.
