The day Hong Kong businessman and diamond magnate Carlos Yeung became a Filipino citizen, everybody was so excited and overwhelmingly happy. He himself couldn`t believe he is now one of us… a Filipino citizen!
It took about a year of waiting after brother-in-law Congressman Benhur Salimbangon sponsored Carlos` citizenship in the Lower House. Having been approved in the Lower House, again, they waited for the approval in the Senate. Without much ado and with the grace of God, finally Carlos` citizenship was approved with flying colors.
Thus, a week ago, to celebrate this milestone, Carlos` wife Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung played host to a thanksgiving luncheon party at their home in Nivel Hills, Lahug, with relatives and friends in joyful attendance. As we have observed, Carlos had felt great after his wishes became a reality. After all, Carlos and Mariquita have been happily married for 40 years now.
