Poised for Flight

Rustan`s Cebu recently held a selling event featuring some of the pieces from Lalique`s Hirondelles Collection. Flying in for the occasion was Lalique Regional Director for Southeast Asia and Oceania, Daniel Ong. He was joined by Rustan`s Home Division Manager, Cecil Hermoso, Home Events Manager, Malu Liu and Rustan`s Cebu Store Manager, Pepet Macachor.

Founded in 1888 by French glass designer René Lalique, the eponymous lifestyle brand, Lalique, continues to thrive: pushing the limits of French savoir-faire, soaring to greater heights, and enduring as the ultimate symbol of French luxury.

From superb crystal perfume bottles, timeless jewelry, and art objects; to the ulta-sophisticated five-star hotel and two-Michellin stared gourmet restaurant Villa Rene Lalique, Maison Lalique can look back with pride to its immeasurable heritage built by its founder. A legacy heralded and epitomized by the limited edition, 130th anniversary Hirondelles Collection, exclusively available in the Philippines at Rustan`s.

Through his work, Rene’ Lalique explored the decorative possibilities of flora, fauna, and the female form. Among fauna, the swallow particularly inspired him, which he then made the centerpiece of many jewels and decorative objects.

With admiration and respect for this immense artist, Lalique reinterprets the figure of the swallow, recurring in the master`s work, herald of spring, symbol of happiness and freedom. Fashioned in satin-finished and re-polished crystal, emblematic of Lalique, the swallows are juxtaposed in a graphic play on repetition.

The precision of the design echoes  the purity of crystal, fashioned by the hand of the best artisan`s from the crystal factory. Lalique exhibits its exceptional savoir-faire in each creation. The halls of their ateliers resonate with a passion for craftsmanship, the love of beauty and devotion to excellence.
