Direct flights have recently been launched from Cebu to Tandag, Surigao del Sur, and back to Cebu. Starting on June 30, the capital city of the province of Surigao del Sur has now become more accessible to the travelers. This pioneering development is the brainchild of Cebu Pacific, in an effort to cover more of the local destinations and expand the airline’s domestic route network.
The launching of the Cebu-Tandag-Cebu direct flights is in line with Cebu Pacific’s commitment to make travelling around the Philippines easy. Prior to the launch, the closest airport with commercial flights in the area was Butuan, which is approximately five hours away from Tandag by land. Now, Tandag is just a 65-minute flight from Cebu.
The new direct flights are available thrice a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – aboard a 72-seater ATR aircraft. Cebu Pacific already has direct flights from Cebu to Camiguin, Dumaguete, Siargao, Coron, Puerto Princessa, Caticlan, Legazpi and Davao.
Tandag is the gateway for reaching the Enchanted River, Tinuy-an Falls, Brittania Group of Islands, Cagwait Beach and the surfing spot of Lanuza..
The Cebu-Tandag-Cebu route is the 34th domestic destination in the Philippines and adds connectivity to the Caraga region.
