CEBU, Philippines - As a brand, Epson is famous for its printers, a standing that is also backed by its spectrum of projectors.
With a huge bulk of its products used in homes and offices based in different parts of the world, the "Epson" moniker is not often associated with the "consumer-focused wearable devices" category of products - but this may likely change with the introduction of Epson's Pulsense fitness watch and fitness band.
Powered by Epson's range of original sensing technologies - Bio, Swing and Location Sensing - the Pulsense Watch and Pulsense Band are aimed at electronic consumers who wish to monitor their heart rates, activity levels, calorie burn and sleep patterns.
Designed with the brand's proprietary heart sensing technology, Pulsense watches and bands can be rigged to work with iOS and Android-based smartphones, as well as synchronize personal activity data using Macs or Windows PC machines.
Though the Pulsense series doesn't come with built-in functions for printing or image projecting, they certainly are step-up additions in the brand's product portfolio.
