CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue Youth Chorale, undoubtedly one of Cebu’s notable choral groups, performs today, Mother’s Day, at four p.m., at SM City Cebu.
The group was formerly called the Mandaue Children’s Choir. It garnered the “Ani ng Dangal†award last year from the National Commission on Culture and the Arts, aside from the two gold trophies it got at the Hong Kong International Children and Youth Chorale Competition. In 2009, the group also won in the children’s category at the grand prix competition of the First World Choir Championship in South Korea.
The present membership of the Mandaue Youth Chorale is a combination of the original choir members who have mostly grown into youths and a younger set of new members.
