Marco Polo Plaza Cebu launches 7th Sabores de España

Last July 3, guests gathered at the Manila Room of Marco Polo Plaza as they launched one of the hotel’s most well-loved Culinary Journeys – Sabores de España!

The guest of honor for the occasion was His Excellency Jorge Domecq, Ambassador of Spain to the Philippines, together with Spanish Honorary Consul Anton Perdices.

The event started with a lovely mini-concert from Spanish Flamenco Guitarist Jose Luis Monton. It was followed by the traditional slicing of the Jamon Serrano led by Resident Manager Julie Najar, Ambassador Jorge Domecq, Consul Anton Perdices and Ms. Gema Pido.

Friends from Cebu Media and the local Spanish community enjoyed a night of authentic Spanish dishes care of Café Marco’s team of culinary experts, led by Ms. Gema Pido — Cebu’s authority on Spanish cuisine.

Spain’s distinctive cuisine brings together unique regional dishes, special ingredients and long-standing influences from Moorish and Arab settlers. With the Philippines being a former colony of Spain, generations of Filipinos have a fondness for Spanish food.

With dishes like Paella Valenciana, Gambas al Ajillo, Mechado del Campo and Leche Frita – experience the supremacy of Spanish cooking at Café Marco from July 3 – 14, 2013. Don’t miss out on this Culinary Journey because as they say in Spain, good food is a way of life! This Culinary Journey is available for lunch and dinner.
