Half-Cebuano to compete at Mister Universe

CEBU, Philippines — Samuele Carenzi, a half-Cebuano who is based in Italy, is this year’s Philippine representative to the Mister Universe pageant.

Standing at six feet, Carenzi’s features are indeed a sight for sore eyes. Named Mister Republika ng Pilipinas-Europe 2017 Universe last December, the Fil-Italian is a restaurant supervisor who also works as a real estate agent.

The 28-year-old hunk lived in the Philippines for a few years, beginning when he was 10 years old. He always dreamed of travelling the world. Despite being currently based abroad, he wishes to come home soon to revisit his culture, bond with relatives and maybe learn Tagalog.

Male pageant site Misterology describes Carenzi as an “ordinary guy with ambition and goals.” He looks up to his father for having raised him and his sister well.

The pageant’s 11th edition will be held July 18-27 in Sto. Domingo, Dominican Republic, with Kevin Monters of Puerto Rico set to relinquish his crown to the deserving gentleman.

Carenzi is hoping to be the first Asian to win the Mister Universe title.
