Ryan Guzman: Filming ‘The Boy Next Door’ was surreal

CEBU, Philippines - Ryan Guzman poses in the buff for Cosmopolitan UK’s March 2015 issue, but the picture isn’t totally risqué, thanks to strategically placed linens over the 27-year-old movie star’s loins.

Though he bared his buns in “The Boy Next Door,” Guzman posed for the magazine to raise awareness of male cancer for Cancer Research U.K. Past centerfolds include model Tyson Beckford, Homeland’s Diego Klattenhoff, Man v. Food’s Adam Richman, Revenge’s Barry Sloane and U.K. reality star Mark Wright.

“I lost my grandfather to cancer when I was 13,” the “Pretty Little Liars” star says. “It’s affected my life and I’ll do everything I can to back cancer research.”

It’s evident that Guzman is in superior shape, though he admits to cheating on his diet on occasion. “I try to be healthy as possible, but man, I do have a real sweet tooth,” he says. “I’m a sucker for Snickers.”

In addition to helping Cancer Research U.K. reach its goal of helping three in four people survive cancer within the next 20 years, Guzman also opens up to Cosmopolitan U.K. about what it’s like to work with some of Hollywood’s hottest movie stars.

“The very first day of filming ‘The Boy Next Door’ was surreal. I was like, ‘I can’t believe I’m working with Jennifer Lopez,’” the up-and-coming actor says. “But after that, any thoughts I had about her being a superstar had to go out the window so I could be professional. My character toys with her emotions throughout the film and it becomes very intense.”

Lopez isn’t the only one who has impressed Guzman. “I got the pleasure to meet Channing Tatum during the last ‘Step Up’ and he’s one of the nicest guys I’ve ever meet,” he gushes. “I can see why people love him.” (FREEMAN)
