CEBU, Philippines - After its successful airing on TV and cinemas in the 1980s, GMA Network is set to bring back on Philippine TV the hit drama series, “Yagit,†with an all-new interpretation on the Afternoon Prime block.
The Filipino viewers of today’s generation are expected to get hooked on the remake of this phenomenal series as GMA-7 gives a unique touch on its traditional dramatic storyline by Eddie Ilarde and Jose Miranda Cruz, featuring the Filipinos’ unwavering spirit of positivity amidst various challenges and difficulties being faced.
Aside from injecting the value of optimism, “Yagit†will also showcase the sentimental importance of being blessed with childhood friends in the personas of Elisa, the hardworking yagit; Josie Macabuhay, the ‘ate’ of the group; Tomtom Macabuhay, the chubby yagit; and Ding Reyes, the orphan yagit. GMA is currently holding a nationwide search for the potential child actors who will give life to these characters.
The auditions will be held on the following dates and venues: SM Baliwag (June 20); SM Novaliches (June 21); KCC Mall General Santos City (June 22); SM Iloilo (June 27); SM Bacoor (June 27); SM Cebu (June 28); Magic Mall Urdaneta (June 29); and GMA Network Studio 6 (June 29). Applicants should bring an authenticated NSO copy and a photocopy of their birth certificate, photocopy of two valid IDs, one whole body picture (3R), and one close-up picture (3R).
This upcoming afternoon prime drama series brings together Kapuso actors Yasmien Kurdi, James Blanco, LJ Reyes, Kevin Santos, Renz Fernandez, Wowie de Guzman, Raquel Villavicencio, Rich Asuncion, Joana Marie Tan, Maricris Garcia, Chariz Solomon, Buboy Villar, Gene Padilla, and Frank Magalona.
