CEBU, Philippines - 22 Tango Records’ artists will take on the stage this Friday, June 27, at the Ayala Center Cebu during the Cebu Literary Festival 2014.
The artists will be performing during the LitFest Jam at 7 p.m., which is the final part of the festivity. Set to serenade the crowd are the Wonggoys, Luxxx and singer-songwriters Cattski Espina and Jessica McYorker, in what is to be an exchange of poetry and music.
The Wonggoys is a brotherly trio composed of Gabe, Bill and Kyle Wong. They play around with the musical genres of folk rock and pop, with some rhythm and blues on the side. They are the second band that 22 Tango Records’ co-founders Cattski Espina and Anne Muntuerto signed under the recording label. They debuted back in 2010 with their album called “I’m Not Sure What To Say But I’ll Say It Anyway.â€
Meanwhile, Luxxx is an electro-pop group who is still part of the modern folk scene thanks to their lyrical sensibilities. They’ve been sticking around with the label for its previous installments of the concert series Folk City. The band will be releasing a single called, “Our Love,†under 22 Tango Records’ up-and-coming collection, named “Folk City: The Various Artists Compilation.â€
A newer name is singer-songwriter Jessica McYorker, whose genre floats the “in-between†boat of alternative folk and classical. You might not have picked her up in your radars just yet, but this sultry voice has already started to fill her mileages within Cebu’s creative circle. Consequently, McYorker is releasing her single, “Save It For A Sunday,†in the Folk City Album.
Of course, Mother Folker wouldn’t be caught dead just staying put when it comes to these kinds of parties. 22 Tango Records’ co-founder and singer-songwriter Cattski Espina will also be crooning during the jam session. Espina has been up and about smothering her artists lately, but that’s because this cat is brewing something delightful for the world.
Don’t miss out on the fun because these four are bound to get you grooving to their beats. (PR)
