Emma Watson to graduate from Brown on May 25

CEBU, Philippines - British star Emma Watson is set to graduate from Brown University later this month, the Associated Press reported.

The “Harry Potter” alum, 24, has been attending the Ivy League university off and on since 2009. She took a break in 2011 to focus on her career and promote the final installment of the “Harry Potter” franchise, which came out in July of that year, and also studied abroad briefly at Oxford University in England.

According to the AP, Watson will graduate with a degree in English literature. A Brown spokesman said she’s expected to attend the commencement ceremony on May 25.

Speaking about her pursuit of higher education in an interview with the Sunday Times earlier this year, the “Noah” actress admitted she was nervous about trying to blend in with her peers. “On the first day, I walked into the canteen and everyone went completely silent and turned to look at me,” she said. “I had to say to myself, ‘It’s okay, you can do this. You just have to take a deep breath and gather your courage.’”

Things got easier after that. “I’ve never even been asked for an autograph on campus,” she said in 2013. “I threw a party for nearly 100 students and not a single person put a photo on Facebook.”

Next up for the star? The movie “Regression,” costarring Ethan Hawke and directed by Alejandro Amenabar. (FREEMAN)
