Brewing dissatisfaction among TV5 stars?

If TV5 is really serious in its goal to be competitive and be at par with ABS-CBN Channel 2 and GMA 7, then maybe they should get their act together and address the issues confronting them with regards to some of their prized talents. The TV5 bosses seem to be content with the way the network has progressed since Manny V. Pangilinan took over the reins of the Kapatid network five years ago, but it seems the network lacks focus.

We heard several questions from various sources asking what TV5 plans to do with their stars like Aga Muhlach and Sharon Cuneta who don’t have shows at the moment. Some sources claim that Aga is allegedly mad at TV5 because they axed his show unceremoniously. It was a good thing that Aga’s contract with TV5 had expired last March but we are clueless if TV5 has plans of renewing his contract. Aga is probably clueless as well.

That was the same thing they did with Ryan Agoncillo’s “Talentadong Pinoy.” It was the only rating show on the Kapatid network but was axed. That was probably the reason why Ryan decided to pack his bags and transferred to GMA 7 where he is happy hosting “Picture Picture.”

TV5 also reportedly did not renew director Joel Lamangan’s contract. The award-winning director handled Sharon’s comedy show “Madam Chairman” and directed a telemovie that starred Nora Aunor and Tirso Cruz III which was shown in February.

The network bought the franchise of “Pretty Little Liars” to do a local counterpart. The stars have taped for the show but it has been three months and there is no word yet if the show will ever be released. Well, this is nothing new. They asked Ogie to tape for a drama series titled “The Gift” but cancelled it even before it could go on air.

The fans of Sharon are also crying foul over reports that the Megastar had been causing problems on the set of the new sitcom which she doing with Richard Gomez. There were tabloid reports that Sharon and Goma had a misunderstanding. Our source said that when Sharon got wind that Richard is supposedly mad at him, she came up to him and asked him.

“Sabi raw ni Richard, hindi naman sa kanya nanggaling ang issue na galit siya kay Sharon. Nagulat nga si Goma when someone came up to him and asked kung totoong galit siya kay Sharon. He said no such thing happened,” said our source.

Whenever people are upset on the set, claimed our source, and that includes the stars and entire production staff, for sure reports would come out in the tabloids that so and so star is a problem on the set.

“Sila lang ang nakilala naming network na naninira ng sarili nilang talents,” said the Sharon defender. “Hindi ba nila pwede kausapin ng maayos ang mga artista nila para hindi naman clueless ang mga ito sa nangyayari at hindi yung sinisiraan nila ang sarili nilang artista sa mga tabloid?”

We heard a rumor that Sharon’s sitcom with Goma had been shelved. We didn’t get an answer when we sent Sharon a text message to ask her if this is true. We surmised that Sharon probably did not get our message or she might be abroad.

Our column is open to the reaction of TV5. We certainly hope that TV5 does not keep their stars in the dark as to what their plans are for them. Having an open communication is more ideal, isn’t it?

Leave it to Ai-Ai de las Alas to do something extraordinary or peculiar. Who would have thought that the Comedy Concert Queen would agree to be the endorser of Pussykip, the newest medical procedure of the Belo Medical Group on feminine wellness.

At the launch of the painless and non-surgical procedure of Belo called Femilift, Dr. Vicki Belo says the product fits Ai-Ai to a T. She already has three kids all delivered the natural way. Through this new medical procedure which is painless, Ai-Ai will once again feel whole, complete, very feminine, and sexy again. It was Dr. Belo who did the procedure on Ai-Ai last Monday.

The launch was a riot and the comedienne gamely answered all the naughty questions. She was momentarily speechless when someone asked: Who is the male celebrity she would want to test her “virginity” on, to which she quipped, “Do I really have to answer that?”

Dr. Belo said Ai-Ai was the perfect choice as endorser of Femilift but she admitted that initially they had a hard time looking for the right endorser for the procedure since it involves the female genitalia. But when Ai-Ai’s name was brought up, she felt the comedienne was the one they were looking for. This also serves as the comeback of Ai-Ai as endorser of the Belo Medical Group.

All roads lead to the Smart Araneta Coliseum tonight for the concert of Anne Curtis titled “The Forbidden Concert: Anne Kapal” and look who is appearing as guest – Luis Manzano no less.

Imagine, two non-singers sharing the concert stage. This should be an interesting watch. What song would Anne and Luis perform that would highlight their singing talent, not necessarily the lack of it?

Since this is Anne’s second time to stage a concert at the Big Dome, will there be a huge crowd just like the first time “Dyesebel” star set foot on the Smart Araneta stage? If Anne fills up the venue again then the success of her first concert was not a fluke.
