Two-night concert for Gary V’s 30th

The biggest concert of Gary Valenciano titled “Arise: Gary V 3.0” is happening at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on April 11 and 12. This is a celebration of Gary V’s 30th anniversary in showbiz and we bet it is going to be one special concert that should not be missed.

We have been following Gary V’s career from the start and we are proud to say we are also a fan of Mr. Pure Energy. We were there when Gary mounted his first solo concert titled A-Live at the Big Dome 30 years ago. When rumor broke out regarding a singer who got his girlfriend pregnant, we admired Gary for admitting it to the world even if meant putting his career at risk.

“If the Philippines won’t like me anymore maybe somewhere else in the world, they would like me,” Gary told us then when asked if he was ready to face the consequences on his career upon admitting to being a young father. Gary’s fears were unfounded as his first major concert was a big success and the rest was history. He has become one of the biggest singing stars in the country, with his numerous hit songs, sold-out concerts and various music awards.

We are sure that Gary V’s concert will also be one big reunion for his many fans. If you had been there since Day One, for sure, you’d like to look back on how Gary V has made himself the iconic singer that he is now. At the presscon of “Arise: Gary V 3.0,” the singer said the concert will trace his career from the beginning until 2014 so that the new audience who might be watching only for the first time will get to know his story as a musical icon – from singer/songwriter, actor, record producer/arranger, and TV host. Moreover, the two-night concert will also raise funds for the victims of typhoon Yolanda.

“Arise” will showcase Gary’s impressive body of work as one of the country’s top male performers as culled from his wide catalogue of multi-platinum, full-length studio albums that produced some of the greatest songs in the history of OPM. Gary’s hit songs are composed of an eclectic mix of romantic ballads, inspirational songs, and energy-packed dance anthems that endeared him to millions of loyal fans.

Long-time friend and seasoned producer Eloisa Matias is overseeing the production management of the project. “I have waited a long time to work with Gary who certainly is the best performer of this lifetime and he has been working so hard to give his fans a real unforgettable experience.” Eloisa is working hand-in-hand with stylist Michael Salientes and Gina Valenciano-Martinez and Marinez Elizalde of Manila Genesis, who both have been collaborating with various designers and technical suppliers. Francis Libiran and Maxie Cinco are designing amazing costumes for the event.

Flying in from the USA is longtime mentor and entertainment lawyer Phillip Myles who calls Gary the “world’s greatest entertainer.” He is presenting some international recording projects that Gary will embark on immediately after the concert. Myles, who managed Leon Patilo of Santana and The Emotions before he retired from active management, will collaborate with Genesis to release some of Gary’s recordings in the USA.

Gary’s advocacy to inspire and move his fans is evident with the recent release of his latest inspirational CD under Universal Records titled “With You” and the album follows Gary’s previous hit inspirational albums like “Shout For Joy” (1991), “Revive” (2001), “Soulfull” (2005), and “Rebirth” (2007) which produced crowd favorites  “Shout For Joy,” “Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos,” “Gaya Ng Dati,” “Take Me Out Of The Dark,” “Could You Be Messiah,” “I Will Be Here,”  “Warrior Is A Child,” and “Shake It Off.”

“It has been a wonderful and humbling journey,” says Gary. “I want to share this concert with my fans and the people who helped me to get to where I am today.” Gary, who joined several organizations like Energy Development Corporation (EDC) and UNICEF Philippines in outreaches in Leyte after typhoon Yolanda, vowed to continue to support the cause of the calamity as well as the disaster caused by the Bohol Earthquake.  He traveled to Ormoc, Palo, Tacloban, among many other towns and cities. Gary has been UNICEF’s Ambassador for 15 years and has committed to go back to Tacloban to help rebuild the region.

Fans can look forward to two unforgettable evenings that will showcase the evolution of Gary’s life and music. Expected to excite the crowd would be arrangements Gary did for the two-night show.  Joining him in “Arise” as very special guests are multi-awarded former frontman of Rivermaya Rico Blanco, Myx VJ artists Sam Concepcion and Iya Villania, rocker Paolo Valenciano who will co-direct the show with his father, international online phenomenon and Super Selfie King Gab Valenciano, Djs DJ Papi and Tom Taus, and phenomenal all-girl vocal group AKA JAM. The dance team is led by G-Force, the Manoeuvres, and the LSDC. Gary V’s only daughter Kiana Valenciano adds spice to both nights while Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo graciously agreed to guest on April 11.
