Go5!

TV5 welcomes the New Year with its biggest show of force as the Kapatid Network launches its biggest offerings for the first quarter of 2013. In a high-velocity themed TV special entitled “Go5!,” the network’s contract stars and executives, led by Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan (MVP) came in full force signifying TV5 going full-throttle towards being one of the country’s leading multimedia network in 2013.

“Coming off our strong performance in the last quarter of 2012, especially in Visayas and Mindanao, we are looking at a more competitive, more energetic, more innovative TV5 this coming year. We continue to build our success with a wider and clearer broadcast coverage across the country and we want to duplicate these in our overseas operations as well,” MVP said.

The TV5 Chairman was referring to the Kapatid Network’s strong finish in the last quarter of 2012 where it overtook GMA in six viewer-rich metro cities with a total 4 million viewers reside according to Nielsen TV Audience Measurement’s all-week overnight data. These cities are Iloilo, Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod and in General Santos City—where TV5 even shared the top spot with ABS-CBN. TV5 regained leadership in Dagupan, where GMA’s steady decline has contributed to the Kapatid Network’s growth beginning Q2 of 2012.

The network’s current 19 TV and five radio stations around the country now covers 88.6% of the national urban population and is poised to reach 100% target by the end of 2013. TV5 Global Channels Kapatid TV5 and Aksiyon TV International, through its affiliate Pilipinas Global Network Ltd., also reached overseas Filipinos in 79 countries and territories in four continents and bring them closer to home.

“Beyond geography we’re taking TV5 one step ahead towards becoming a full multimedia venture,” MVP continued. Its current digital media platforms – news site InterAksiyon.com. sports portal InterAKTV.ph and lifestyle review site Kristn.com—complement the network’s full service offerings in the emerging online media.
