Linen manufacturer unveils bamboo cotton line in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines — Canadian Manufacturing, known for its quality household linens and towels, recently launched its ‘Bamboo Cotton Collection’ at SM City Cebu signifying its commitment to help protect the environment through environment-friendly products.

Responding to the growing demand for sustainable or green goods, the Philippine-based Canadian brand introduced its latest products made of bamboo fiber, in its bid to lessen the use of plastics and other raw materials that could be harsh to the environment.

The Canadian collection is composed of eco-friendly line of bed linens and bed accessories made from 100% bamboo.

Apart from the bamboo component of the products, Canadian also uses reusable self-fabric packaging and biodegradable carton for the packaging of the collection.

Canadian Manufacturing sales and marketing director Chand Daryanani said that while the demand for household essentials like bedsheets, pillows, towels, and bed comforters, among others have risen significantly due to the real estate boom in the country, the company also noted the high consciousness of consumers on green products.

In fact, Canadian Manufacturing has started to source organic cotton raw materials in order to meet the demands of ‘green-minded’ consumers.

Daryanani shared that the Canadian Bamboo cotton sheets are breathable, anti-microbial, and smooth as silk at less the cost. Bamboo is considered one of the strongest sustainable alternative to many conventional materials.

It is suitable especially for those with sensitive skin and has an odor protection feature. Another notable quality of bamboo sheets is the thermo-control attributes that’s perfect for the Philippine weather.

Canadian has also partnered with Haribon Foundation, which is long known for its biodiversity conservation advocacy. Every Bamboo purchase entitles one to a pledge leaf where one can make a lifestyle change in the pledge wall. Proceeds of the purchase will go to the Adopt a seedling program of Haribon Foundation.

Canadian Manufacturing has been in the industry for 60 years in the Philippines, it successfully made a mark despite the strong entry of imported household linens from all over the world.

The company is exclusively dealing with the SM Group for the Canadian brand, although other brands are sold in other retail outlets nationwide.

Meanwhile, Daryanani reiterated that the property boom has  been contributing significantly to the growth of the company.

An Indian family-owned business operating in the Philippines, Canadian Manufacturing is one of the country’s largest mattress, towels, pillow cases makers in the country, maintains two factories in Parañaque.

The booming tourism industry – resorts and hotels – is also contributing to the growth of the linens business as well.

Canadian Beddings is owned by Canadian Manufacturing under its umbrella company, New Creation Manufacturing.
