CEBU, Philippines - Noting the low internet penetration in Cebu specifically in mobile platform, Globe Telecoms open its doors wider to usher Cebuanos to easier and convenient network plans in both postpaid and prepaid packages.
The Ayala-led telecom company, has announced an exclusive offer for Cebuanos to take advantage of its full deployment of 3G and 4G HSPA+ network infrastructure,
"In Cebu there’s not enough people in the Internet," said Dan Horan senior advisor for consumer business of Globe Telecom, basing on the company's result of latest market assessment.
According to Horan, 95 percent of the total population in Cebu is still using 2G because most have yet to migrate into 3G phones, or smartphones.
Because of this, Globe opens up series of Cebu-exclusive offers for postpaid subscribers, headlined by the "MySuper Plan All Unli 399, where customers can get unlimited calls and text to Globe and TM every month plus a free Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite for P399 per month in a 24-month contract period.
Joe Caliro, the company's head for retail transformation and management said that while the cost monthly plan is lowered, the requirement to avail of a postpaid plan is also relaxed. Postpaid customers can also avail of the new Samsung Galaxy V and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Lite Wi-Fi bundle free at Plan 999 for a 24-month contract period, among other exclusive offers designed only for Cebu market.
Empowering the digital lifestyle of today's prepaid subscribers, Globe also is offering the Cebu-exclusive GoUnlimited, which has unlimited calls to Globe/TM, unlimited texts to all networks for only P10 valid for one day.
TM, the value brand of Globe, is also extending the Cebu-exclusive TM ComboAll10 which offers unlimited texts to Globe/TM, 50 minutes of calls to Globe/TM, and 50 texts to other networks for only P10 valid for one day.
"These milestone and current initiatives are part of our strategic intent to sharpen our focus and further grow our business in Cebu, which has always been one of our priority markets because of its booming economy," said Horan.
Roughly, Globe has close to four million subscribers in Cebu, or about 10 percent of its total subscriber based in the country, which is 99 percent prepaid.
The offering of series of exclusive packages for Cebuanos is also complemented by strengthened customer service team, and physical presence of the company, Caliro said.
Its Globe call center (customer service) facility is employing a new staffing model, aiming at attending every call in faster waiting time, Caliro said.
Globe introduced its first Visayan hotline, which made calls and transactions more personal and relatable among subscribers in Cebu in 2012. (FREEMAN)
