A Global Shapers Cebu Hub was recently formed headed by Cebuano entrepreneur Jay P. Aldeguer as curator, to lead the search for Cebuano Global Shapers under 30 years old, who will represent Cebu to the rest of young leaders or global shapers under the WEF community.
In an interview with Aldeguer, he said that the hub already identified some young Cebuanos who excelled in their respective fields such as champion of voluntarism Anna Maris Igpit, Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. young leader Mel Yan, innovator Carlo Delantar, and a few others.
Aldeguer said the Cebu Global Shapers Hub will at least name nine to 12 young Cebuano individuals, who are successful in their respective fields.
“We would like to choose Cebuano global shapers who are in the fields that have relevance to the current issues, like disaster voluntarism, preparedness, global climate change advocacy, and similar issues,†said Aldeguer.
The Cebuano Global Shapers will be introduced prior to the three-day OCEAN 14 Conference to be held in Cebu on May 23 to 24 at the Movenpick Resort in Mactan.

He said the hub is also accepting nominations from third party organizations, or individuals to recommend deserving young leaders to be in the circle.
