51st PMAP confab expects to draw 1,500 participants

CEBU, Philippines - The Philippine Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) expects to draw in at least 1,500 participants for the 51st PMAP Annual Conference to be held September 17 to 19 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Carrying the theme, “Running with Tigers: Shared Identity, Common Destiny", the conference aligns with the PMAP 2014 overall theme "HR Readiness towards ASEAN Integration”.

PMAP vice president and conference chairman Luz Laguitao said that the organization aims to prepare the Filipino workforce and leverage their competencies with other ASEAN countries for the unified market come 2015.

“The integration of Southeast Asia into one defense, cultural, and economic community signals our collective response to leverage on shared strengths. We take our place in the league of ASEAN’s economic tigers as we run a race that fosters a shared identity and fulfills a common destiny,” she said.

She said that the three-day affair targets to gather more than 1000 human resource and people managers, business executives, leaders from the academe, religious and government sectors across the country.  

PMAP shall organize an exposition and fellowship activities during the conference. 

Plenary sessions that will tackle industry trends and core human resource competencies, best practices and human resource innovation, issues and challenges of the human capital, global mindset and local preoccupation will also be conducted.

In the same event, the organization will also recognize the Employer of the Year, People Program of the Year and People Manager of the Year.
