CEBU, Philippines - Tin Gow, one of Cebu City’s premiere and elegant Chinese restaurants, has already released its set menu meals in time for the celebration of the Chinese New Year.
“Tin Gow in Waterfront Cebu City has already identified three set menus to be offered to Chinese cuisine enthusiasts for this Year of the Wooden Horse,†said Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino marketing communications officer Joan Mitz Zamora.
Officials said Tin Gow specializes in a combination of Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine and caters to private parties of up to 100 persons.
The fine dining restaurant, which operates during lunch and dinner hours, can hold up to 200 persons and has five private rooms.
According to Zamora, the offering of set menus has become Tin Gow’s yearly tradition to welcome the arrival of the New Year based on the Chinese lunar calendar.
Zamora said the set menus will be good for 10 persons. She also clarified that the prices are already inclusive of government taxes and subject to 10 percent service charge.
From their experience, Zamora has seen a huge leap in the number of their customers, days leading to the Chinese New Year. The menus are already available starting today until the holiday which falls on January 31.
The first set, which includes salmon yeesang salad, prawn roll and seafood salad, fish maw chicken soup, steamed live garoupa with black mushroom in soya sauce, deep fried spare ribs, homemade style bean curd with minced pork, is tagged P8,888.
The first set also includes garlic stir fried fresh veggies, Chinese sausage friend rice, along with deep fried and steamed Chinese tikoy.
As for the second set, the menu includes prawn yeesang salad, taro ring and spring rolls, shark’s fin soup with Australian scallops and crabmeat, steamed live garoupa with chicken in oyster sauce, shanghai pork belly with kuapao and half roasted duck.
Priced at P12,888, the second set also features stir fried broccoli with shrimps, chicken and black mushroom fried rice and deep fried and steamed Chinese tikoy.
The third set, meanwhile, is pegged at P16,888 and covers abalone yeesang salad, assorted dim sums, shark fins soup with Australian scallops and shrimp, steamed live garoupa with soya sauce, deep fried spareribs with kimtu sauce and steamed live lobster with garlic sauce.
The last set also includes fish maw with veggies and sea cucumber, egg noodles stir fried with beef and deep fried and steamed Chinese tikoy. /John M. Destacamento (FREEMAN)
