CEBU, Philippines - The surge in the number of Cebuanos using Apple products has prompted its Filipino-owned partner Power Mac Center to establish a corporate office here.
“We have seen a steadily growth in Apple’s Cebuano patrons over the recent years,†said Joey Alvarez, Power Mac Center marketing director during last Tuesday’s inauguration of their sixth office in the Philippines.
With 17 retail stores, as many service centers, and being the only authorized Apple training center in the country, Power Mac is reputed as a reliable retailer and service provider of Apple products in the Philippines. The company is turning 20 years in existence in the industry next year.
“The Cebuano market can sometimes get very discriminating. Most Cebuanos won’t go for products that are often expensive, but don’t live up to their price or features. With the opening of our service center here, Cebuanos are treated to a complete experience with Apple,†said Alvarez.
Alvarez pointed out that the expansion will broaden Power Mac’s reach in “providing a complete Apple experience,†adding that the Cebu branch will complete their geographical presence in the three major islands in the country Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
He noted the improved purchasing power among Filipinos, which has paved the way for the drastic increase in Filipinos patronizing Apple branded products, something that consequently converts into more expansions across the country.
“Before, it would take very long before an expansion takes place. Most of the products can only be afforded by the high profile consumers. But now, almost everyone can buy,†said Alvarez.
The facility in Cebu, located at the ground level of Creativo IT Center II Bldg. at the Cebu Business Park, opposite to The Ayala Terraces, is their second largest service center in the Philippines.
Power Mac Center Cebu offers professional end-to-end solutions that are aimed at bridging the corporate and educational needs of Apple’s clientele.
One of its highlights, according to Alvarez, is its Apple authorized service provider, which provides repair and maintenance services for Apple products. Alvarez assured that their local technicians here are all certified by Apple and have undergone training needed to discharge their services.
As the longest Apple products distributor in the Philippines since the 90’s, Power Mac has access to genuine Apple parts and can accommodate personal enterprise or service requirements, said Alvarez.
But apart from offering technicians, Power Mac Cebu also features training rooms and Apple-certified trainers to make available Apple certification programs and non-certification courses, which include iOS App Development, Mac OS X Essentials and Mac OS X Server, among others.
Alvarez mentioned that these course offerings are seen to enhance the knowledge and skills of Cebuanos for their personal and professional development. — (FREEMAN)
