CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Bionic Builder Supply Group of Companies, through its affiliates, is aggressively geared towards promoting sustainable living through the use of energy-efficient products to address global warming and help preserve nature.
Buck Richnold Sia, president of Intranet Trade International Inc. (Itrade), said that it is high time to integrate sustainable approach and be more efficient in terms of energy and cost in response to the environmental issues at present.
“It should already be the norm, not just luxury. Everybody should be doing it,†he stated.
Cebu Bionic Builder Supply Group of Companies recently opened its second Build It! branch that sits on a 5,000-square meter property in Danao City last Wednesday. Its first Build It! Materials store is located in Labogon, Mandaue.
Buck, who designed the two-storey outlet himself, said that the 2,000-square meter hardware store showcases a sustainable architectural design as a representation of the company’s new approach of doing business. The second floor that spans for about 400 square meters serves as the showroom of the store.
He said that among the features that highlight sustainable living include the natural lighting of the area so there would be no need for too much electricity, proper insulation and harvested rainwater which could be used for water to put out fire and for irrigation by farmers in Danao soon.
He further noted that the Danao outlet is the first sustainably-designed depot of the Cebu Bionic Builders Supply Inc..
Cebu Bionic Builder Supply Group of Companies executive vice president Bernard Vonn Sia also encouraged the public to be more responsible when buying and using products for their households and commercial establishments.
He cited three energy-efficient products sold in the newly-opened branch in Danao that could be provided to clients along with installation. These include the Nanocoat, Big Ass Fan and Solatube.
Bernard also shared the Build It! Danao outlet primarily features the latest product imported from France, the Saniflo macerator pump equipment, which enables a homeowner to add a toilet anywhere in the house with minimal breakage.
This could cater to those individuals who plan to conduct house renovations and those condominium owners who want to personalize their units.
Available in all Cebu Bionic outlets, the company believes that it is the first to introduce the Saniflo product in the Philippines.
The newly-opened facility in Danao houses quality materials, tiles, bathroom waters, and architectural finishes. It carries 12,000 to 14,000 products of 20 direct import brands and 30 local brands.
Meanwhile, Buck said that they intend to steer further economic growth in Danao and promote commercial viability in the city along with other neighboring provinces in northern Cebu.
“There is always a potential for every development that the company ventures into. We are strategically located at the hub outside Metro Cebu where there is a large retail market for the northern part of the province,†he said.
He revealed that they are still working out on their plans to expand within Cebu in the next two years.
Cebu Bionic Builders Supply Inc. also has retail outlets such as the Cebu Bionic branch located in the South and Cebu Bionic Hardware Mall in Magallanes, and Unihom in Bogo. It also has the Architectural and Interior Source (AIS) in Escario that serves as a showroom for Itrade, an exclusive distributor of architectural finishes and bathroom wares.
Cebu Bionic Group of Companies is celebrating its 37th year in the construction industry this month. It first opened its Build It! branch in the early 90’s at the formerly Century Plaza Complex, now Mango Avenue. The 100-square meter outlet was considered to be the first air-conditioned hardware store with a showroom./JOB (FREEMAN)
