PLDT upgrades myDSL business packages

CEBU, Philippines - In response to the evolving needs of businesses in terms of internet connectivity, the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) has upgraded its current product line of myDSL (Digital Subscriber Line) Biz packages with the latest gadgets and cloud solutions to make the small and medium enterprise (SME) more competitive in the market.

PLDT SME Nation, the enterprise arm of the leading telecommunications provider in the country, has improved its myDSL Biz packages with customizable business bundles that are powered by faster connectivity speed for SMEs.

PLDT first vice president and PLDT SME Nation head Kat Luna-Abelarde said that it is high time for SMEs to invest and embrace technology to gain competitive edge in the fast-paced industry.

She added that in line with the commitment of the PLDT’s enterprise arm to develop the SME segment, PLDT SME Nation has innovated its superior business solutions to help entrepreneurs bring their business online and streamline their operations, enabling them to connect better and faster to their suppliers and their global counterparts.

The company has inked partnership with Samsung to ensure cutting edge technology that could elevate the business experience of SMEs.

Business owners can choose from the new myDSL Biz plans such as PLDT myDSL Biz Pro, Booster, Elite, Max, Max Plus and Max Turbo.

These flexible and customizable packages come with a wide range of free devices and the most up-to-date gadgets such as Samsung notebook PCs, tablets, Smart LED TVs and Wi-Fi capable printers, IP cameras, 1TB hard drive, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) equipment and Access Point with Wi-Fi bridge and Wi-Fi booster.

PLDT SME Nation Category Head for Internet and Data Solutions Christian Lim cited that there is growing number of SMEs who are encouraging the Bring Your Own Device policy at work.

“With the advent of smartphones and tablets, the need for internet connectivity for businesses is evolving nowadays.  It has become proportional to the number of users and employees for the business BYOD phenomenon,” he stated during the launch of the new myDSL Biz package in Cebu that was held last Thursday at Mandarin Hotel.

He added that with the latest product line of myDSL Biz, users are ensured with fast connection speeds that could support the additional bandwidth requirements.

The new business solutions now offer faster connection speeds ranging from 4 Mbps to 15 Mbps with guaranteed minimum speeds of up to 1.6Mbps, static IP addresses, a Biz Box modem that enables wi-fi connectivity for multiple users and a SUN 3G dongle for back-up connectivity.

These are ideal for SMEs with a network set-up in their offices across various industries such as wholesale and retail trade, manufacturing, services sector, travel and leisure and educational institutions.

PLDT SME Nation Category Head for Cloud Solutions Enzo Tañedo described the cloud as the newest tool in the market that could enable users to make informed decisions online.

He said that SMEs could take advantage of cloud infrastructure as a technological service to same time and money.

He cited that cloud computing could cost up to 60 percent less than the traditional computing since the former only requires pay-per-use policy and capex-free investment that could start from P2 000.

It could also be deployed up to 75 percent faster with its self-service, rapid processing.

The new bundle of myDSL Biz package currently offers 12 real-time cloud solutions such as web-based video monitoring solution, point-of-sale record of sales transactions, asset tracking, accounting and human resource and payroll as the newest offering that allows SMEs to spend less time on correcting errors, manage and organize employee information, and quickly process the payroll.
