MANILA, Philippines — Siblings LJ and Lyn Getubig drew their eighth and final round duel to finish first and second in the girls’ division of the Philippine National Juniors Chess Championships in Alicia, Isabela over the weekend.
The 17-year-old LJ took the crown and a Woman National Master title that went with it after finishing with seven points on six wins and two draws against a single defeat while the 18-year-old Lyn wound up second with six points and earned a WNM norm.
