MANILA, Philippines — Manny Pacquiao will be back in the boxing ring in April, but this time, he has again chosen to go the exhibition route.
The Filipino icon will be taking on former world champion Ruslan Provodnikov of Russia in a 10-round exhibition fight on April 18 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, various reports said Wednesday.
A news release carried by fightnews.com said the bout will be promoted by Indistry Media and Banner Promotions. Philstar.com reached out to Pacquiao and some members of his team but has yet to receive a reply.
Pacquiao’s official website mannypac.com already has a listing for ticket sales to the fight, with prices starting at $150.
The 47-year-old Pacquiao ended a four-year retirement last year and fought Mario Barrios to a draw also in Las Vegas, in a failed attempt to wrest the World Boxing Council welterweight title.
But the clock-unwinding performance by the Filipino legend against the much younger Barrios turned out to have extended his boxing shelf life.
