MANILA, Philippines — National U spikes for a third straight title against rival La Salle in Game 2 of the Shakey’s Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship finals today at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
A historic three-peat on top of their current UAAP supremacy is within reach and the Lady Bulldogs want that at 5 p.m. to further establish their stature as the best collegiate volleyball team today.
Fellow UAAP bets Santo Tomas and Far Eastern U, meanwhile, dispute the bronze medal at 1 p.m. after losing in the semifinals against the two powerhouse squads that took turns in ruling the UAAP.
NU moved closer to the coveted feat by ending La Salle’s perfect eight-game run prior to Game 1 of the series opener with an easy 25-16, 25-12, 27-25 victory.
It was a strong statement and revenge win for the Lady Bulldogs after their 28-game, two-year streak in the SSL got snapped by the Lady Spikers in the elimination round.
