MANILA, Philippines — Cignal erased a six-point deficit in the opening set and turned back Nxled, 27-25, 25-20, 25-20, for a sure top two finish in the elimination round of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the Filoil EcoOil Arena yesterday.

MJ Perez paced the HD Spikers with 17 points, including key hits in the first set when they rallied from a 14-20 deficit and seized control on the way to a 7-1 finish in the two-round prelims.

The victory guaranteed Cignal a place in the top two going into the knockout playoff phase.

The Chameleons concluded their campaign with a 1-7 slate.

In the nightcap, Akari completed an eight-game sweep in the elims with a 25-19, 25-22, 25-19 win over Farm Fresh.

The Foxies remained at eighth with a 3-5 card, half game ahead of No. 9 the Choco Mucho Flying Titans (2-5).

Earlier, Capital1 Solar rapped Galeries Tower, 25-13, 26-28, 25-22, 25-21.

Capital1 import Marina Tushova unloaded a match-high 35 points with 31 booming spikes, and drew essential help from Des Clemente and Jorelle Singh.
