Bitter loss for Philippines-Cebu

MANILA, Philippines — Canada-GIGG wielded the upset ax on Philippines-Cebu to score an 82-78 win and punch a ticket to the championship round of the Born 2006 division of the PSL Global Championship Challenge yesterday at the Victoria Sports Club.

Ervin John Agua delivered 21 points and stole the ball six times as the fourth-seeded Canada stunned the erstwhile undefeated Philippine quintet represented by players from University of San Jose Recoletos.

Canada will next face the winner between Thailand-Traill International School and North America.

In the Born 2008 division, North America and the Philippines will clash for the 16-under crown.
