MANILA, Philippines — Team Philippines, led by 16-year-old team captain Lance Gregorio Bolipata, bagged two golds and two bronzes in the recent 12th Robotics Championship International Competition at the Grand Antonio Alexe Stadium in Oradea, Romania.
The Philippine bets fared well in the event that drew 126 teams from various countries, including Belarus, China, Colombia, Egypt, Greece, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Poland, Romania, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and Hungary.
Judges from major tech corporations from all over the world were impressed with the way the Philippine team created the robots with the help of E-rovoutika Robotics and Automation Solution which catalputed them to winning top awards.
Bolipata gained top honors for Artificial Intelligence powered by Trash segregator, Yofi Bolifata for Medical Robot, Louise Carlo Solomo, Gillian Atienza for Humanoid, Mega Sumabot.
The Philippine team won gold with impressive execution on Humanoid Robot Challenge, another gold in Freestyle Open, bronze in Freestyle High School Category and another bronze on Mega Sumo Robot Challenge.
Team Philippines expressed appreciation to the Department of Science and Techonology (DOST-TAPI) for support from training all the way to the competition.
