MANILA, Philippines — Former national team mentor Shaq delos Santos will call the shots for Cignal in its Premier Volleyball League (PVL) debut next month.
The HD Spikers announced the appointment over the weekend, elevating Delos Santos as the team’s chief tactician for the PVL’s first pro-season in May.
The multi-titled mentor will take over from former coach Edgar Barroga, whose contract was not renewed last year amid the pandemic.
Delos Santos had head coaching stints with the Philippine women’s team in the 2018 Asian Games and 2019 SEA Games as well as Petron, which he guided to four Philippine Superliga (PSL) titles.
Led by Rachel Anne Daquis and Alohi Robins-Hardy, an intact Cignal squads eyes to continue its fine play in a different battlefield after moving to the PVL from the PSL along with Sta. Lucia, Chery Tiggo, PLDT and F2 Logistics.
