MANILA, Philippines — World No. 1 Filipino karateka James “OJ” Delos Santos topped the third and final leg of the Venice Cup yesterday, thus, inching closer to a dream haul of 30 gold medals to end the year.
The 30-year-old Delos Santos bested Alfredo Bustamante of the United States, 25.9-25.1, for his 26th gold.
The two-time Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist, who was also named the Grand Winner of the Venice Cup after he ruled the second leg last September, will be competing in at least four more events this month, all of which he hopes to win.
