Stalzer, Bell back for another PSL campaign

MANILA, Philippines — Fierce rivals Lindsay Stalzer of F2 Logistics and Katherine Bell of Petron could not wait to go at it once again as they banner the formidable cast of imports in the coming 2020 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix.

With the league allowing only one import per team, a bigger responsibility is on the shoulders of the returning reinforcements after a classic showdown last year.

But both have assured their willingness and readiness to take the mantle of leadership after Bell shared it with Finals MVP Stephanie Niemer in last year’s championship of Petron, and Stalzer then teaming up with MJ Perez for the Cargo Movers’ bridesmaid finish.

The other imports are Elizabeth Campos (Generika-Ayala), Shainah Joseph (Sta. Lucia), Jennifer Alvarez (Cignal), Hana Cutura (Marinerang Pilipina), Tatjana Bokan (Chery Tiggo) and Maeva Orle (PLDT).

“This is my seventh season here, I can’t believe it. I am super excited. I love coming back here and each season is a new challenge, new opportunity but of course, the same goal,” said Stalzer, banking on an intact F2 core led by Kalei Mau, Majoy Baron and national team skipper Aby Maraño.

“With only one import, there’s a lot of pressure on that one import. Fortunately for me, I think I have a great backup and a great team behind me, picking me up and pushing me in each game.”

A resident import since the foundation of PSL, Stalzer also served as champion import for Foton and Petron in the past, making her extra hungry this time to deliver one for the Cargo Movers.

But her way into that coveted dream goes through the Blaze Spikers’ gunner Bell who is out to lead a new-look squad following the departure of coach Shaq delos Santos and key players like Mika Reyes and Rhea Dimaculangan.

“I love it here, being back for my third time.  It’s gonna be an exciting season. There’s always some kind of pressure for everyone’s getting us. Everyone’s coming after us but I’m excited,” said Bell.
