MANILA, Philippines — Alab Pilipinas has tapped a familiar reinforcement in Justine Brownlee to fortify its title campaign in the 2019-2020 ASEAN Basketball League.

The resident Barangay Ginebra import replaced Prince Williams, who disappointed with averages of only 9.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in six games as a replacement to Khalif Wyatt last month.

It will mark the return of Brownlee for the San Miguel-backed franchise after teaming up with Renaldo Balkman in bringing the ABL title to the country in 2018.

The 31-year-old super scorer is coming off another stellar PBA stint, norming 29.0 points, 13.6 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.4 blocks in his sixth tour of duty with the Gin Kings since 2016.

He lost to Meralco’s Allen Durham for the Best Import award but got the better of his rival once again with his third Governors’ Cup and fourth overall title with Ginebra.

Since Ginebra’s championship last month, the St. John standout has been vocal on his desire to return to Alab especially after missing a chance to help the Philippine squad defend its title last year.

Boasting unmatched scoring prowess and versatility, Brownlee is expected to be the stabilizer for Alab’s bumpy campaign so far marred by a number of import changes midway through the season.
