MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) COO Ramon Suzara and the Phisgoc team watched the underwater hockey games at the Manila Invitational held March 21-24 at the Vermosa Sports Hub in Imus, Cavite.

The Manila Invitational is the first competition for the sport, which will be included in the Southeast Asian Games in December.

Underwater hockey, through its national sports association Philippine Underwater Hockey Confederation (PUHC), a member of the internationally recognized Philippine Association on Underwater Activities (PAUA), is applying for membership with the Philippine Olympic Committee.

If any other sports association claims to represent the sport in the country, an objection to the application should be presented before the POC membership commission within 15 days, Phisgoc said.
