LOS ANGELES — Indiana Pacers star Victor Oladipo will miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury during his team's victory over Toronto, the NBA team confirmed on Thursday (Friday Manila time).
Oladipo collapsed to the court in the second period of the Pacers' 110-106 victory over the Raptors on Wednesday, clutching his right knee in agony.
A statement from the Pacers on Thursday said scans had revealed he suffered a ruptured quadriceps tendon in his right knee.
"He will undergo surgery at a date to be determined and will be out for the season," the Pacers medical bulletin said.
"Further updates will be provided as warranted."
Oladipo's injury comes as a huge blow to the Pacers, who are 32-15 and occupy third place in the Eastern Conference standings.
The 26-year-old Oladipo is Indiana's top-scorer this season, averaging 19.2 points per game.
