MANILA, Philippines - The new year is all about moving on for Chris Tiu.

After spending six years in the PBA, the former Ateneo superstar is hanging up his jersey for good.

The 33-year-old guard on Tuesday announced his retirement from the PBA through Twitter with friends and fans alike supporting his decision.

Tiu played his entire professional career with the Rain or Shine (RoS) Elasto Painters franchise. The team drafted Tiu as the seventh overall pick in the 2012 PBA Rookie Draft after a stellar performance in the UAAP and the national team.

The 5'11 point guard leaves the league as a one-time champion, winning the PBA Commisioner's Cup in 2016 with the Elasto Painters.
