MANILA, Philippines — Crisp iron shots and impeccable putting carried the Al Gloria-Dennis Gonzales pair to the overall low gross championship in Summit Point Golf and Country Club’s 11th Invitational golf tournament held in Lipa City, Batangas recently.
Gloria and Gonzales made 37 points in best ball and 69 in the aggregate format for a two-day winning 106 total. Nelson Ventura and Katy Katigbak assembled 125 (46-79) to top Division 1.
Wendell Lucido and Hermie Perez had 131 (49-82) in Div. 2 while Bill Williams and Eric Kasilig ruled Div. 3 with 134 (51-83).
Jerome Ngo and BJ Cadayong triumphed in the guest/sponsor division in the event sponsored by K&G, Pepsi/Gatorade, Resorts World Manila/Emperador, Golf PH/Mission Hills, Batangas Maharlika Golfers and Sta. Lucia Land.
Rona Cordovez and Antenor Banagale also came home as big winners after each won a Toyota Vios from Toyota Calamba in the major raffle.
Summit Point director Teddy Valenton aced the par-3 No. 8 with Beres 5-iron and a Titliest Ball #4 to win a Texas Eagle golf cart and P10K worth of consumables either at the club or pro shop.
