MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association – Philippine Army Chapter, Inc. (PMAAA-PACI) will stage the seventh Heroes Run to be held simultaneously on Oct. 7 in Metro Manila, Cebu, Tarlac, Bohol, Pagadian, Cagayan de Oro, Catbalogan, Legazpi, Isabela, Baguio, Cotabato and Davao.
Put up to generate awareness on the plight of the soldier-heroes, especially during the Marawi campaign, and at the same time raise funds for their medical benefits and their dependents’ education, the event will also be held in Iloilo City on Oct. 14.
Since 2012, the Armed Forces of the Philippines has remained committed to the cause of the Heroes Run which kicked off as a one marathon leg in Metro Manila to become one of the country’s biggest running events with 13 stages throughout the country, each with its own variations.
The Cebu leg, in fact, has its own concept of using the obstacle course and team events plus other features to make it more exciting.
Proceeds of the event will be donated to the AFPEBSO and the Hero Foundation, Inc., specifically to the children of the country’s heroes, who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Marawi. It will be donated during the commemoration of the first Marawi Liberation Anniversary.
