MANILA, Philippines — Valley Golf’s Romy Avila shot a 75 to capture the overall low gross crown while David Paliwoda of Pradera Verde took the overall low net title with a 61 in the second leg of the Federation of Philippine Amateur Senior Golfers Inc. (FPASGI) golf tournament at the Veterans Golf Club recently.
Avila carded nines of 41-34 to top the field while Paliwoda, a 20-handicapper, shared top honors with a 43-38 in the event hosted by the Senior Golfers of Veterans Inc.
Joe Cortina of Veterans shot a gross 80 and topped Group I (55-59) with Jess Osmeña, a 22-handicapper, of Aguinaldo scoring a 61 and edging Eastridge’s Marietoo Valerio, who made a 62 from a gross 70, for the net title.
Intramuros’ Ricardo Loyola fired a gross 78 to rule Group II (60-64) with Rudy Alcantara of Veterans taking the net crown with a 62 from a gross 81 over Jose Miguel dela Paz of Aguinaldo, who had a 65 while Pol Garcia copped the Group III (65-69) plum with a gross 78 with Edwin Yutuc completing Valley Golf’s romp in the division by claiming the net trophy with a 65 from a gross 90 in the countback over Carlos Manansala, who also made a 65 from a gross 93.
