MANILA, Philippines — Patrick Antonio basked in the limelight as he received the 2018 World Slasher Cup Invitational 9-cock derby honors during awards rites hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions at Novotel Manila-Araneta Center last Thursday.

Antonio’s entry Sagupaan B-50 Forten/Hammer PA & Inguel bested nearly 300 local and foreign participants in the event sponsored by B-Meg, Thunderbird, Petron, Excellence Poultry and Livestock Specialists and supported by Warhawk, and media partner PitGames Media, Inc. and the Journal Group.

He scored 8.5 points, the second time he had posted a second straight eight, and took the championship after a gruelling 88-fight grand finals.

“This time I was fortunate enough to bag (my) seventh (WSC) championship,” said Antonio during awards rites graced by WSC and Uniprom Inc. officials and 2017 Binibining Pilipinas queens.

Meanwhile, Biboy Enriquez (Firebird 2); Arnold Mendoza (Legacy LSU); WSC 2017 solo champ Frank Berin/Danny Buldog (Bulldog Feb 9); Henry Teves (Tiffany); and newbie Rey Canedo of Davao and his teammates Chris Sioson and PitGames CEO Manny Berbano (RC Warriors and Chris Purple) all finished with eight points.
