MANILA, Philippines — Tanduay Alab Pilipinas regained its winning ways, blasting Mono Vampire Basketball Club, 114-87, to wheel back into contention in the ASEAN Basketball League at the Stadium 29 in Bangkok, Thailand last Sunday.
Alab came out in full throttle and dominated the Mono Vampire side from start to finish on their way to matching the league’s biggest winning margin of 27 which Chong Son Kung Fu Basketball posted in its 86-59 rout of Formosa last Nov. 17 in China.
It was the Filipinos’ fourth victory against the same number of losses.
Alab also held Mono Vampire 17 points below its scoring average of 104.5 points.
Justine Brownlee led the rout with 29 points, eight rebounds, nine assists, two steals and the same number of blocks while reigning MVP Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. and Josh Urbiztondo chipped in 19 and 17 points, respectively.
Alab’s other import, Renaldo Balkman had 14 points, seven boards and five assists.
Mike Singletary hit 24 points for Mono Vampire and Filipino Paul Zamar added 20 points.
Alab will next face CLS Knights at the GOR CLS Ketrajaya in Surabaya, Indonesia on Saturday.
