MANILA, Philippines — It's not a secret that the Philippines is lagging when it comes to sports.

And if you ask our most recent Olympic medalist, we still have a long way to go if we want to compete with other countries.

Hidilyn Diaz on Tuesday lamented the training facility's condition at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.

"Nagtataka pa ba tayo bakit hanggang ngayon wala pa tayong Gold medal sa Olympics?" she wrote.

Diaz became the first Filipina to win an Olympic medal when she won silver in the 53kg weightlifting category in the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

She ended the country's 20-year Olympic medal drought, the last being Onyok Velasco's boxing silver in Atlanta.
