MANILA, Philippines - Fil-German dynamo Stephan Schrock has returned to the Ceres Negros FC fold, boosting the already power-packed roster of one of the pioneering clubs in the Philippines Football League.
“Ceres Negros FC is proud to announce that Stephan Schröck will be once again wearing our jersey! Welcome back Schröcky!” Ceres team manager James Dinsay said yesterday.
Schrock had a loan spell with the Busmen last year, helping them reach the Round-of-16 of the AFC Cup. After the season, he went back to Europe for negotiations and eventually became a free agent after parting ways with his mother club SpVgg Greuther Fürth last week.
The 30-year-old midfielder is reuniting with his Azkals teammates Roland Muller, Kevin Ingreso, Manny Ott, Patrick Reichelt, and Iain Ramsay in spearheading Ceres’ next campaigns.
“He will be available for the Busmen in the upcoming Philippines Football League including the opening match where they will play Kaya FC on May 6 at the University of Makati Stadium,” Ceres reported on its website.
Schrock, though, isn’t likely to play for Ceres in the ongoing AFC Cup group stage, though, as he wasn’t part of the original pool submitted.
