MANILA, Philippines – The scheduled PBA Philippine Cup game on Saturday in Lanao del Norte was postponed, according to provincial officials.
Gov. Imelda Dimaporo said the spouses of the Star Hotshots and Phoenix Fuel Masters’ players had requested to postpone the match owing to the on-going firefight between the Philippine Army and the Maute group.
“It is not under my control to decide on the postponement of the game but I have to agree on the said request,” said Dimaporo.
The governor added that those who have already bought tickets for the game can have their refund at the provincial treasurer’s office at the capitol building.
She, however, said that the province will still host a PBA Philippine Cup game either in March or April, next year.
