MANILA, Philippines – John Emerson Inguito and Masato Fernando pulled off narrow escapes in a smashing start of the 2016 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship Series and 2016 FDR Underbone King Championship Series recently at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
Inguito showed the way in the 2016 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship Series where he outraced Fernando in a heart-stopping showdown to win by just fractions of a second.
It looked like a photo finish when the checquered flag was raised but the timing system, certified accurate to a thousandth of a second, showed Inguito a clear winner of the premier 180cc class by 0.007 of a second.
Fernando got back at Inguito in the 2016 FDR Underbone King Championship Series where he copped the 150cc Open crown.
The race became a three-cornered fight as James Mendez joined the fray at certain stages of the race before Fernando sprinted home to win by just 0.040 of a second over Mendez, who finished runner-up with just a 0.018 second margin over Inguito.
The series, part of the 2016 Eneos Philippine Motorsports Championship season sanctioned by the Unified Sports and Racing Association (USRA), is sponsored by FDR Tires and Eneos with media partners Inside Racing Magazine, TORQUE Magazine, Motorcycle World Magazine, Motorsiklo Xklusibo @ DZME 1530, Ride and Drive Philippines.
