PBA greats, showbiz stars duel at Ynares

MANILA, Philippines – Longtime TESDA chief Joel Villanueva and Antipolo City Mayor Casimiro Ynares III lead a host of friends from the basketball circle and show business playing in a special match dubbed “Shoot For Your Dreams” at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig tomorrow.

Cage greats Alvin Patrimonio, Jerry Codinera, Johnny Abarrientos, Kenneth Duremdes and Marlou Aquino, current PBA players LA Tenorio, Japeth Aguilar, Jervy Cruz and Jericho Cruz and showbiz stars Zanjoe Marudo, Rayver Cruz and Jason Abalos are among those to see action in the match set at 6 p.m.

Beaujing Acot calls the shots for the All-Star team composed of Ynares, Tenorio, Aguilar, Marudo, Abalos, the Cruzes and Eduardo Daquioag.

Patrimonio, Codinera, Abarrientos, Duremdes and Aquino, meanwhile, will be joined by Villanueva and other cage legends Bal David, Rodney Santos, Noli Locsin and Bobby Jose in Team Trabaho.

Game ticket is at P200.

The cage legends and the showbiz stars are in support of Villanueva’s undertakings from his TESDA days.

He headed the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) as director general with a cabinet secretary rank from 2010 to 2015, bringing to new heights technical vocational education in the country, and making it the youth’s vehicle towards employment.
