MANILA, Philippines – Philippine Women’s University subdued Polytechnic University of the Philippines to snare the premier 25-years-and-under crown while Chiang Kai Shek College and St. Paul-Pasig gave De la Salle-Zobel School double heartbreaks in the 28th Women’s Basketball League sponsored by Milo at the Xavier School gym recently.
PWU banked on MVP Charlene Camba in thrashing PUP, 48-40, for the crown. Enderun Colleges nipped University of Santo Tomas, 34-33, for third place.
St. Paul-Pasig also edged DLS-Z, 33-31, to claim the 13-U Division championship of the tournament organized by the multi-awarded Best Center (Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training Center) founded by former national coach Nic Jorge.
DLS-Z then took another loss, bowing to Chiang Kai Shek College, 39-49, in the 17-U Competitive Division final.
New Era High School demolished St. Stephen’s High School, 37-16, for the 17-U Developmental Division crown.
