MANILA, Philippines – Marikina Wangs outgunned Malolos Mighty Bulsu, 130-123, to clinch the fourth and last semifinal berth in the Filsports Basketball Association Second Conference at the Enderun Colleges gym at the Fort in Taguig Tuesday night.
Francis Munsayac exploded with 24 points and spiked his effort with nine rebounds as the Deliverers nailed their fourth win against six defeats, good enough to secure the last ticket to the semis.
Pateros Austen Morris, behind Jawhar Purdy's 33-point performance, edged First Conference champion Quezon City UP, 84-82, to book the third semis slot after finishing with a 5-5 (win-loss) record.
In the other game, Pampanga Foton cruised past the Manila NU MFT with a 87-73 victory and take the number one spot heading into the semis. Mikee Reyes led the Toplander with 19 points while Matt Salem scored 19 as well for the Bulldogs.
The semi-finals will be this Saturday, December 5 as number two seed Manila NU MFT Bulldogs take on the number three seed Pateros Austen Morris Associates at 3:30 while the number one seed Pampanga Foton Toplander go up against the number four seed Marikina Wangs Deliverers at 5:30 pm in a one game knock-out winner take-all.
